I’m starting to veer off from our curriculum a bit. We need something a little more challenging and relevant to Little Wright’s skills and that’s the beauty of homeschool! I can customize our plans as we go along.  Thankfully there are some awesome resources via pinterest, teacherspayteachers, and kindergarten bloggers. One idea I fell in love with right away for math was the use of journals. Combining reading and writing skills in math is a great idea! Plus it’s really neat to see the progress being made via a journal. Here are some of the math journal entries we did this week:

I got the Turkey Family idea from Miss-Kindergarten.com

We’ve been doing a problem of the day also. This one comes from the Thanksgiving Fun Unit that we also used for Language Arts this week.

We’re also working on calendar, telling time and beginning addition.

Anyone else use math journals?

Have a good weekend friends!
