I’m going to try something new. I’m going to start sharing my shopping choices here. Since we live overseas and don’t have a Target, Hobby Lobby, Toys r Us, DSW Shoes, Home Depot or even Whole Foods I have come to rely heavily on online ordering. Amazon.com is my absolute favorite site for several reasons. For one ,99% of the time I get my packages within a week. For living overseas I think that’s awesome. For two I LOVE reading reviews to help with my decision making. And for three they generally have the best prices and FREE shipping. I shop amazon for home decor, party planning, Christmas shopping, shoe shopping, food shopping, homeschool shopping and everything in between. I’m tempted to see if I can add up everything I’ve bought from amazon in the last 3 years, but I’m afraid it will make me ill
I love many of my purchases and want to share them with you. Just so I’m being upfront, I did sign up for amazon.com affiliate program. Two things though: 1) I will only share items I have bought and actually use and like. 2) I will also only share items I plan on or would buy.
Ok so since Christmas is coming I want to share some of my favorite gift ideas for girls ages 2-5. I’ve pinned a lot of these ideas, so you can check out my Gift board on pinterest too. Note that these prices are approximates and are within a few dollars range. Amazon changes their prices (up and down) every so often.
1. Disney Kids Minnie Mouse Time Teller Watch $35
We are starting the process of learning to tell time. I absolutely LOVE this watch for my daughter because it is labeled with “hour” and “minute” hands to help young ones learn how to tell time. For $35 I think this is a great gift that little’s girls will adore. If you are military living overseas this item can unfortunately not be shipped to APO because of the lithium battery. Bummer!
2. Gigantic Keyboard Player $50
I ordered this as a joint gift for both my kiddos. They really love interactive toys and are at an age where they fight and have to have the same of everything.
3. Melissa and Doug Deluxe Wooden Folding Castle $70
We bought this for my daughter last year when she was 4. The quality is really great and it’s a beautiful castle that she will enjoy for years and years. As usual Melissa and Doug really delivered with this product.
4. Melissa and Doug Textured Stencils $10
There are three different stencil options: dinosaur, sea life or insects. I ordered this for my daughter for Christmas this year. For less than $10 this is really an awesome gift for kindergarten aged kids. It would also make a great stocking stuffer. They love to draw and write stories and this is just one more tool they can use to help express their budding imaginations.
It’s about to be way too cold to play outside, which is a problem when you are homeschooling and have two little ones with TONS of energy to burn. I ordered two of these, one for my daughter and one for my son. We have a lot of indoor space with hardwood floors this year and I think this will be really enjoyed. The product has nearly 700 reviews on amazon, with the majority giving a 5 star review.
6. Indoor Trampoline $89
Speaking of energy to burn what better toy than an indoor trampoline?? My kids love to jump on their beds and the couches, so I think this will be a great gift. I ordered one for each kid. I like that these are portable, small and offer support with the handle.
For the girl that likes to copy everything mama does this is great! I’m always snapping pictures of food or the kids and of course I go on snapping sprees whenever we travel. My daughter has loved this camera and it takes pretty decent pictures too! I love that it can be dropped, bumped and bonked and it’s totally ok.
8. Girls Playhouse Pink Princess Castle Play Tent $35
This was actually a gift for my daughter’s 5th birthday, but how awesome would this look all set up under the Christmas tree?? Little girls love having secret hideaways to read stories or play with their dolls. Here is a picture of my daughter’s room and you can see the tent on the left:
9. Princess Dress Up Clothes $15-30 depending on costume you choose
Little girls LOVE to dress up. Whether it’s in mommy’s shoes and scarfs or clothes meant for dress up, they use their imagination and get lost in the wonderful world of pretend play. They especially love to dress up like their favorite princess.
10. Pink Fantasy Pony Stick with Sounds
This is another gift I ordered for my 5 year old for Christmas this year. She loves animals, especially horses. Our neighbor has one similar to this and both kids love galloping around with it.
Over the years I’ve learned the kinds of toys kids really like to play with. In general the dancing elmo type of toy is exciting for maybe a week. Kids always go to the basics and the things that allow them to use their imagination. Anyone else have suggestions for awesome gifts for little girls?
xoxo Becca

Love all your gift ideas! I love the Melissa and Doug gift!
I also like Etsy for homemade things. I’ve even found German sellers so I can buy “local.”
Great idea about local etsy sellers!
